Recently I learned that Coupon Sherpa now has a guide called the "Eco Frugal Life Guide". Um... Eco Frugal? From Coupon Sherpa? I'm SOLD!!! I was extremely interested so one dull Sunday afternoon I sat down in front of my computer and soaked in this fabulous guide. So now, I'm telling you about by it!
This great guide is the results of months of research and study. I do love how the author goes back in time to give you a picture of what life was like during the Depression-era. How families survived on very little money and made do with what they had. I do think we are very spoiled in this country (and even Canada) with having the things we needs so readily available to us in the grocery store or clothing store. Imagine if those didn't exist anymore, or if their shelves suddenly became empty. What would you do? Would you be able to survive? I know for a fact that I would, but I would struggle GREATLY! But back then, this is what happened. And people struggled at first, but they quickly adapted and made the best of their situations. It later goes into hints and tips to living a more Eco-Friendly life. One of my faovrite sections is the "Buy Produce in Season" part of Chapter One. It contains a list of the months and which fruits and veggies are in season in those months. It is rounded out by several links to some great recipe sites that guide you through cooking these great in-season fruits and veggies!
In Chapter Two in the "Natural Beauty" section you will find a whole boat load of recipes for natural face and body products. This site will be my encouragement to try out some new recipes to share with you! The Sea Salt Scrub especially looks very appealing!
Skipping down to Chapter Five: Leisure and Tourism I am LOVING the "Best Camping Spots in the US" section. I've been lucky enough to do a lot of camping in my time but have not had a chance to visit any of these. It would make a great addition to my bucket list to camp at as many of these as possible!
At the very end of this comprehensive guide you will find a wonderful Bonus Chapter- Oh Baby! - Guide to Green Savings For Kids! This is a wonderful guide to saving some money for what may arguably be the most expensive (and valuable) investment you will ever make.
There's a lot more to this guide than what I described here. So head on over there and check it out. I recommend bookmarking it for future reference. Right now a lot of what's in that guide doesn't apply to me, but when I buy my first house more of it will and when I have children of my own that last chapter will for sure!
