Organic Moby Wrap Review and Giveaway

I've mentioned in the past that I not only have a bad shoulder but also help out a few friend's who are military wives who often end up taking care of their kids on their own for several months at a time, a job that can be quite the task with everything else they have going on in their lives. But because of my bad shoulder I find it difficult to hold any baby that weighs over 10-15 pounds and can't hold any child of any weight for any period of time without my shoulder hurting. So in comes my Organic Moby Wrap!

I absolutely LOVE my Organic Moby Wrap. First of all, it works great for newborns without any additional supports or inserts. Just put it on, and tuck the little one in. You can clean, straighten up, read a book, watch TV, even breast feed with the Moby on (of course, *I* don't breastfeed, but I know many Moms who do!). I made lemonade, a sandwich, folded laundry, and put away groceries with the baby in the Organic Moby Wrap the other day. The only task I found difficult was bending over to pick up toys off the floors, which I only attempted once before decided to undertake that task after the baby was back with Mom.

So what is a Moby Wrap and what makes it so awesome? Honestly, it's one of the simplest baby carriers out there because it's just a long piece of fabric that you wrap around yourself in a certain way and then tuck the baby inside. It allows you to keep your baby very close to your skin, right where a newborn and even an older baby wants to be. It's a favorite carrier for Baby Wearing Moms for this very reason! The instructions show several different carrying methods though my favorite has been the newborn hug hold and the regular hug hold since I feel it offers the most closenes and security for the baby and holds them at a level that makes it easier to do work with the baby in the carrier.

Now I like the Organic Moby Wrap because it uses both shoulders as well as your back to help distribute the weight. I can adjust the section of cloth that goes over my right shoulder in a way that won't bother where my injury is. The other day I was helping out a friend and I help her three week old baby girl for over an hour in the Moby Wrap, and probably would have been able to go longer if she didn't want her baby back. :) The Moby Wrap is also handy for me since it's just a bunch a fabric so it's easy for me to roll up and store in the handy carrying case and it actually fits inside my purse! I do have other carriers, but this is the only on that can do that.  It's also easily machine washable, which is a great bonus when dealing with a spitty baby.

The Organic Moby Wrap is also more affordable than most other carriers on the market right now! It's also made from certified Organic cotton which is a great bonus for anyone trying to "go green" and also a very soft and comfortable material!

What I Love: Moby Wrap is a wonderful company with a great reputation. I know many mother's who have Mobys who love and rave about them. The Organic Moby Wraps are soft and comfortable for both Baby and Mom. The price is great for those on a budget who are looking for a carrier you can use daily without fear of wearing it out.

What I Don't Love: My only complaint is that the MobyWrap can be a little too warm during hot summer days. I've heard some Moms complain that a dark wrap (like the Licorice Organic Moby Wrap) gets way too hot to use during the summer. So keep this in mind when deciding on which color wrap you want to buy!  The wrap will also only work on babies up to 35 pounds, however, I find that by that age they don't want to be help as much anymore and are more comfortable walking around on their own.
